Objective 2

Determine if existing apple and peach IPM tools are working in an industry facing constantly changing regulations and weather patterns.

The overarching goal of our project's second objective is to refine IPM tools to ensure compatibility with evolving production practices, regulatory changes, and climate.

 

We will achieve these goals by addressing the following sub-objectives:

Obj 2.1

Evaluate biocontrol (non-chemical) agents against vulnerable life stages of key orchard pests

Obj. 2.2

Evaluate the effectiveness and cost of IPM tools for Lepidopteran orchard pests including Codling Moth, Oriental Fruit Moth, and Borers

Obj. 2.3

Evaluate effectiveness of San Jose Scale mating disruption technology for managing fruit injury in peach and  apple orchards

Obj. 2.4

Develop and evaluate methods for managing border-driven pests including Plum Curculio and Brown Marmorated Stinkbug

Obj. 2.5

Talk to growers about their perceptions of new tools and the production costs of new tools when developing enhanced IPM strategies
