Objective 4

Determining the social and economic costs of using improved apple and peach IPM strategies, making it easier for growers to adopt and the market to adapt.

The overarching goal of our project's fourth objective is to assess the socioeconomic impact of enhanced IPM programs to promote grower adoption and market flexibility

 

We will achieve this goal by addressing the following sub-objectives:

Subobjectives

Obj 4.1

Quantify the costs and benefits of six combinations of different crops, pests, and geographic locations that use enhanced  IPM strategies

Obj. 4.2

Leverage university Extension networks with apple and peach growers to develop and deliver updated, engaging, and inclusive educational materials on enhanced IPM programs

Obj. 4.3

After teaching growers about enhanced IPM programs from this research project, identify their knowledge gain, intent to use, and perceived economic value of adopting the enhanced IPM programs

Obj. 4.4

Engage and mentor early career professionals in Extension and Outreach activities to provide  opportunities to learn about the value of the Extension profession

Obj. 4.5

Hold strategic Stakeholder Advisory Panel meetings to ensure project deliverables are in alignment with industry  needs
